Two Massachusetts men died after a serious crash on I-95 in Richmond, Rhode Island Saturday night.
The two men were killed after their auto struck another vehicle on the highway just before 10 p.m. Saturday in Hopkinton, Rhode Island.
Sean McCarriston, 32, was driving southbound at a high speed when his auto rear-ended another vehicle about a mile past Exit 3, police said.
"The driver of the other vehicle was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Westerly Hospital". His name was not released.
According to the State Police, the crash happened a few minutes before 10 p.m. on 95 South between Exits 2 and 3. McCarriston and his passenger, Ryan J. Gromada, 23, were both flung from the vehicle.
State Police said that it does not appear drugs or alcohol were factors, but the investigation continues.
McCarriston's auto appears to have been traveling at a high rate of speed when it struck the back of the other vehicle, which was driving directly in front of it, Moynihan said. Police said that they did not believe McCarriston and Gromada were wearing seat belts. The crash remains under investigation.
