Players guessed correctly that it was tied to an upcoming open beta ahead of the game's official release.
The full game will be available in the market on February 14 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
The open beta will run through the 12th, and is set to include the new Elimination mode - "a best-of-five series of four-on-four matches with no respawns". "At launch, For Honor will feature twelve playable heroes and five different multiplayer modes".
This will all feed into For Honor's overarching Faction War too. One of the players have posted in a forum about the email he received to prove that an open beta will be rolling out next month. However, Ubisoft is yet to officially announce the open beta.
The For Honor closed beta wrapped up mere hours ago.
After the success of the For Honor closed beta, players are now given a chance to try the open beta.
That another beta is being planned for the game is hardly surprising. So players who had a chance to try the game early may be confused to see a new update - version 1.02 of the For Honor beta - hitting their consoles.
The basic gameplay of For Honor on the surface seems like a button mash fest but it's so much more, an in-depth system of stances, blocks, combos that actually has quite a steep learning curve, but once you begin to master it there's a whole lot of fun to be had.
Before the beta kicks off, celebrities and Twitch streamers will be playing the Elimination mode on February 7 at 2PM PST/ 6PM GMT/ 1PM EST.
