Police in Westland are still working the scene where two people were shot dead near Michigan Avenue and I-275 early Monday morning.
Police said they responded to a call about shots fired just before 3 a.m. today near the intersection of Noreen and Treadwell, east of South Newburgh Road.
Police found that a man's body in the street, then found a second body closer to the sidewalk about a half block away from the other body.
The victims are 19 and 35-year-old Westland residents who lived in the neighborhood, Wilkie said.
That person was rushed to the hospital where they were also pronounced dead.
Police believe the shooting was likely related to drugs, and say this was not a random attack.
