Dem Rep. Green calls for Trump impeachment on House floor

Trump wanted Comey to throw journalists in prison

Trump's meeting with Lavrov and Kislyak came as the White House deals with a series of scandals linking members of Trump's team with Russian Federation.

The Washington Post reported that who said Trump's disclosures jeopardized a critical source of intelligence on the terror group as the information the President relayed had been provided by a U.S. partner through an intelligence-sharing arrangement considered so sensitive that details have been withheld from allies and tightly restricted even within the U.S. Government. Ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee Adam Schiff warned against veering away from fact-gathering at Wednesday's press conference.

According to memos reportedly written by Mr Comey, and obtained by the New York Times, Mr Trump asked the Federal Bureau of Investigation director in a private meeting to "let [the Flynn investigation] go". Chaffetz's letter to the Federal Bureau of Investigation requests Comey memos not just for the first few months of the Trump administration but dating all the way back to the beginning of the Obama presidency in 2009.

The "nothing to see here" mentality that has dominated congressional Republicans' approach to President Trump's growing pile of scandals finally cracked Tuesday night. "Frankly, I think he should be more aggressive", Ohio Gov. John Kasich said at a CNN town hall special.

"It is obvious that we need to subpoena the White House to demand the documents we requested in March", he said. But now, there is potential for a paper trail - in the form of memos Comey was said to have written about his conversations with Trump - to be obtained and analyzed. Mr. Speaker, we are talking about a president who fired the Federal Bureau of Investigation director who was investigating the president for his connections to Russian involvement in the president's election.

The intensifying drama comes as Trump is set to embark Friday on his first foreign trip, which had been optimistically viewed by some aides as an opportunity to reset an administration floundering under an inexperienced president. "Memos, transcripts, tapes - the list keeps getting longer", he said.

I rise today, Mr. Speaker, to call for the impeachment of the president of the United States of America for obstruction of justice.

In two tweets on Tuesday, Trump confirmed he had spoken to the Russian officials about terrorism and airline flight safety, but he did not confirm or deny whether the information was classified. He used that phrase nine times in his briefing to reporters.

The Trump administration has come under fire over a meeting at the Oval Office with Lavrov and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak last week, in which he shared security information that two sources described to CNN as classified.

A USA official who confirmed the disclosure to The Associated Press said the revelation potentially put the source at risk.
