Amazon Great Indian Sale Flipkart Big 10 Sale to offer up to 80% discounts across brands

With a view to woo customers with deals and big discounts, Amazon will kick off its Great India Sale from May 11 till 14 while Flipkart will hold its Big 10 sale between May 14 and 18. The sale is different from "The Big Billion Days sale and is termed as 'Big 10" sale to mark the company's 10th anniversary in the e-commerce market.

Much to the delight of shoppers, India's two biggest online giants Amazon and Flipkart are back with their sale again!

Online platforms have been trying best to garner maximum sells post demonetization.

Flipkart reveals that the "never-before" deals will include offers like the chance to win worldwide trips, gift vouchers every hour, chance to win free shopping, up to 90 percent off deals, cashback on PhonePe, among other things. Additional discounts will be provided through c ash-backs for digital payments. Myntra, the Flipkart owned fashion brand will also offer mega discounts.

"Flipkart has indicated that discounts will be massive for its 10th anniversary sale", a top online seller told ET.

The sale is applicable for all categories from fashion to the latest smartphones, electronics, smart televisions, home decor and home appliances. "Since Indian consumers are discount lovers, they are obviously going to love the discounts, if they are genuine", he said. The company was all gushy about offering stuff at "never seen before prices". The deals include Indian brands like Bajaj, Prestige and Fastrack, and also foreign brands like Adidas, Samsung, LG among others. But this sale is more than just a celebration of its tenth year of operations, as this will be the company's first big sale since Kalyan Krishnamurthy was elevated to the position of Flipkart CEO. Amazon's "Great India Sale" is scheduled from 11 May until 14 May.

"In fact, the sellers' sales and margins are reducing due to predatory pricing by the sister companies and private labels of marketplaces". No seller on a platform can account for more than 25% of sales.
