Goldie Hawn On Why She Isn't Fighting Ageism

Dumped by her rock star boyfriend (Randall Park and his impressive goatee) on the eve of their exotic holiday, Emily Middleton, (Amy Schumer) a wild child and social-media obsessed New Yorker, persuades her mother Linda (Goldie Hawn) to be her travel buddy on her a non-refundable trip to Ecuador.

She said: "I think it's the way your mum looks at you".

"Even though we were all stars, [Hollywood] was nervous about the movie", Hawn reveals about starring in The First Wives Club alongside Bette Midler and Diane Keaton. "Because the studios were never sanguine on trusting that women carrying a movie would actually work", she sighed. "You think you're going to fight the system?"

"No. There's a certain reality". And she was just very sweet and dealt with me how you'd deal with any insane person who came up to you in an airport.

The problem with Snatched is that a scenario of two women being kidnapped is about as unfunny as you can get for starters, and writer Katie Dippold (who co-wrote the very bad Ghostbusters reboot) doesn't come up with a series of events that feels original.

"I accosted her on a plane", explained Schumer on meeting Hawn for the first time. It's the organic stuff, what happens in the moment of the show when they can tell you're off-script, that's the stuff you want to see.

Hawn and Schumer make for a convincing mommy-daughter combo, and Snatched has its worth for putting the two in a movie together.

"A year ago I met the love of my life". If the best thing to come out of this whole project is Goldie Hawn making more movies then I'm down with that.

In her first appearance since her split from Ben Hanisch, Amy Schumer revealed she prefers a "nice guy" over a bad boy.

Plus, she was ready to get back in front of the camera. I forgot about the perks.

"I kind of ran up to her and was like, "Hi, there's a movie, and I'm Amy", and duh-duh-duh". When I had to pack up and leave, I shed a tear. I'm not sure there are many other actresses - comedic or otherwise - who would perform the scene in which she cleans herself up in a public bathroom before going out on a date. "There's so much to say about the decades I've lived through", says Hawn.
