Jamie Carragher apologises to Liverpool fans about Philippe Coutinho

A dissatisfied Slaven Bilic expressed his dismay at West Ham United's home finale performance Sunday after their 4-0 defeat to Liverpool at the London Stadium.

The Reds are now in third place and can confirm a place in the top four with a win in their final game against Middlesbrough on Sunday (21 May).

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher expects Philippe Coutinho to play in a deep role for the Reds on a regular basis based on his display against West Ham.

"We were a really deserved victor".

What Klopp said about Coutinho...

"Nobody will go into this game and underestimate Middlesbrough".

"That's why I'd like to give credit to the players, because it was a very hard [season]".

The reds face West Ham United in a must win game with just 6 points left to play for this season.

If you don't have intensity in games then teams and players like coutinho will rinse you!

West Ham should have been level on the stroke of half-time but for an astonishing double miss from Andre Ayew. His shot somehow hit the post and Liverpool got a lucky break.

And the result was put beyond all doubt soon after when officials failed to halt play for what appeared to be a head injury sustained by Reid and Liverpool countered, with Coutinho keeping his composure to thump in his second.

Having initially led the counterattack himself, Coutinho received the ball back from Wijnaldum before skipping past James Collins and finishing powerfully from close range.

Ayew's poor finishing was duly punished, Coutinho taking matters into his own hands with two terrific solo efforts in the space of four second-half minutes, although the second one came with a hint of controversy.
