Melissa McCarthy adds spice (and Spicer) as host of 'SNL'

McCarthy's Spicer says before ditching the press briefing room and riding her motorized podium all the way to Trump Tower in NY in order to find Trump and ask him if he can keep his job as press secretary.

One sketch featured McCarthy as the hot-tempered Spicer commandeering his motorized podium through the streets of midtown Manhattan - a sequence spotted by the media on Friday while it was being filmed. Her Spicer goes onto defend President Donald Trump's tweets, tells a New York Times reporter that he stinks repeatedly, and deny the "Russia thing". "I can promise you, whoever I choose is going to be so bonkers you're going to wish like hell it was Judge Judy".

McCarthy took repeated pies to the face as a hapless contestant on a game show called "Just Desserts!"

There, Spicer finds Alec Baldwin's Trump for a much-needed pep talk that Sarah Huckabee Sanders won't take over as press secretary.

The sketch included "Spicer" attacking reporters with fire extinguishers and even structures of the White House itself before the reporters asked if Trump is lying to Spicer.

McCarthy-Spicer ends up having a crisis of conscience after the press corps gets him thinking about why President Trump forces him to defend huge levels of scrutiny every day. "Trump is innocent. How do we know?"

Then a reporter asked, "Were you surprised Trump fired Comey before he fired you?" McCarthy's Spicer picks up a column from the set and hurls it at the journalist - then makes Spicer have a crisis of trust of Trump.

But was this true?

"Wait, is this like "The Godfather" where you kiss me and no one ever sees me again", Spicer asks.

But confronted with the idea that Trump may have lied to him, fake-Spicer responded, "But he wouldn't do that".

Cut to a prerecorded scene of McCarthy rolling around midtown to the Simon and Garfunkel's "The Only Boy Living in NY", yelling "I promise I'll talk better" and asking for the president at Trump Tower.

McCarthy-Spicer promptly had at it as he took questions from reporters about James Comey's firing and whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russian Federation.

"Only since you started working here", Trump replied.
