Authorities in OH are piecing together the events that led up to a nursing home shooting that left four people dead including the suspected gunman.

Local media report the guns were found Friday at 43-year-old Thomas Hartless' home, just hours after he killed Kirkersville Police Chief Steven Eric DiSario, nurse Marlina Medrano and nurse's aide Cindy Krantz at a nursing home before killing himself.

In Kirkersville, Ohio, the suspect who is now dead is accused with killed a state village police chief, and two employees from a nursing home have violent past records revealed by a court, which even shows the history of violence includes one of the now dead nurses.

A search warrant return lists 64 firearms, including rifles, shotguns and handguns.

After being found guilty of three misdemeanor charges of domestic violence in March, Higgins sentenced Hartless to 90 days in jail.

10tv.com reported Tuesday that Medrano went to police May 5 to report that Hartless had beaten her twice more and that she feared for her life.

Licking County Municipal Judge Michael Higgins told our news partner 10tv.com (WBNS-TV) on Tuesday that "mistakes were made over here" and the review is needed because "it's important for the families and the public to understand what happened".

Approximately three months before she was killed, Medrano wrote a letter to a judge requesting a softer sentence for Hartless for beating her, according to WCMH.

Another woman obtained a protection order against Hartless in 2009.
