Tim Cook Hints at Apple's Wearable Revenues and They are Huge

"By doing that, we can be the ripple in the pond". Also, insider Luca Maestri sold 20,307 shares of Apple stock in a transaction that occurred on Wednesday, April 5th.

The first $1 billion is an initial donation, Cook said, and Apple already has talked to one company it wants to invest in.

On Tuesday, Apple announced the company had generated $52.9 billion in revenue and a profit of $11 billion during the second quarter of its fiscal year 2017. "Because if we can create many manufacturing jobs around - those manufacturing jobs create more jobs around them, because you have a service industry that builds up around them".

President Donald Trump has put pressure on Apple to manufacture iPhones and other products in the United States.

APPLE'S chief executive officer (CEO) Tim Cook has said the U.S. tech giant will strengthen its presence in India's "under-penetrated" market, amid improving 4G network infrastructure.

Cook also said Apple plans to fund programs that could include teaching people how to write computer code to create apps, and will release more details about the effort this summer.

Cook said that he believes that the company's performance in Greater China "will improve a bit more during this current quarter", though he doesn't expect a return to growth.

Cook, who was in India a year ago, said he agreed that Apple was "underpenetrated" in the market. This means Cook is saying that the combined revenue of those products in the wearable business is at least $5.1 billion.

In the second quarter, Apple reported results that were slightly under what Wall Street expected. Revenue was $52.9 billion versus $50.5 billion in 2016. The stock has a market cap of $771.56 billion, a PE ratio of 17.65 and a beta of 1.26. But shares are up over 25% this year so far. The iPhone maker reported $2.10 earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter, beating the Zacks' consensus estimate of $2.02 by $0.08.
