Video Proves 8-Year-Old Was Bullied Before Killing Himself

But surveillnace footage showed the youngster being beaten unconscious in the boy's bathroom

The children's faces are blurred and it's hard to see exactly what happened, but the video appears to show a boy hitting another boy and do something to a third boy that left him on the ground for several minutes.

Gabriel Taye was on the ground unconscious for five minutes.

Taye's cause of death had originally been ruled suicide after he hanged himself at home on January 26.

An attorney representing the parent of an 8-year-old child in OH, who killed himself back in January, has leveled an accusation that his school didn't tell his mother about an assault he suffered in one of their bathrooms just two days before he took his life.

Surveillance video recorded at the school showed Gabriel Taye trying to shake hands with another child who pushed him against a wall and knocked him unconscious in January 24.

However, family members say surveillance video from inside the school captured a dramatic incident of bullying just days before his death. She also contacted (Taye's) mother and asked her to pick him up and take him to the hospital to be checked out.

About a dozen people, mostly parents, showed up in front of Carson School Friday morning with signs to protest bullying. Other students nudge or poke Gabriel with their feet.

Another concerned parent, Carolyn Emery, said she has a 9-year-old daughter who attends Carson and that bullying is s chronic problem there.

Gabriel Taye, 8, was found hanged in his bedroom after he was targeted by students at Carson Elementary School in Cincinnati.

Still, Hamilton County Coroner Lakshmi Sammarco told a local radio station she wants the case reopened and investigated as a homicide, according to CNN affiliate WCPO-TV in Cincinnati. "During our investigation we learned that the Cincinnati police detectives found a video recording of the child two days before he died". She picked him up and after vomiting twice at home, she took him to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.

Nearly eight minutes later, an adult in a dark suit is seen walking over and attending to a still unmoving Gabriel.

Apparently, the coroner handling the case of the Taye hanging concurs with the detective about the potential of criminal assault occurring in the days leading up to the 8-year-old's death, as she opted to reopen the case despite previously ruling it a suicide. We miss him desperately and suffer everyday. "They didn't tell her the whole story", Leader said. His life was not only stolen from him, but from those of us who expected to watch him grow up and enjoy life. Neither doctors nor the boy's mother knew what had happened earlier that day, her attorneys said.

A Cincinnati Public Schools statement that was released on Thursday prior to the footage becoming public said officials at the school had said that he was "motionless", but denied the assault allegations, according to The Huffington Post.

No charges have resulted from the investigation.

A Spartanburg woman is accused of hitting a little boy after he made a Mother's Day card for his grandmother, instead of her.

The edited video supplied by Cincinnati Public Schools ends before an adult finds Taye. "Mom is called, and she's told that he fainted", said Branch. When Reynolds arrived to pick him up from school that day, she was told only that he had fainted; if she had known he was beaten, she said, she would have taken him out of school and to the hospital.
