The Watford board were growing serious concerns over the relationship with Mazzarri and his players.

"It does not have to be a very big club; I am willing to accept any position if I can feel that the project is going to be mine".

Watford have confirmed another season in the Premier League and this team can finally get some credit since with the squad they have available to them, this has been a really good performance for the Hornets.

Watford could finish as high as 11th if they manage to beat City this weekend but Pep Guardiola's side also need to avoid defeat to guarantee a top-four finish. We have had some problems, but we have met the target. "In addition, we have been able to beat hard teams like Arsenal, Manchester United or Everton". That important people in English football, and Alan Shearer praised the team which filled me with pride.

"Unfortunately, when all was going well and we were in seventh place in the table, we had this incredible glut of injuries".

Watford have been crippled by injuries for much of this term, especially in defence, and while Mazzarri said he had no regrets about his time in charge, he did lament the absentees.

"Despite these misfortunes, we were able to reach the 40 points with six games remaining, which is the record for this club".

The 55-year-old was hugely unpopular with the players and the staff, who couldn't get to grips with his methods, on and off the pitch.

And Mazzarri's next destination is likely to be Spain or Portugal, although he is open to taking a break from the game.

"I am exhausted after a demanding year, but it all depends on the offers you receive". There were some games I did not even know who to put on the pitch. "I do not want to just go anywhere, but I want to choose a project that appeals to me".
