Wes: Hot and steamy Thursday with pop-up showers and storms

Mother's Day Weekend was lovely, but this weekend will have chances for showers and storms.

Wednesday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Scattered showers and storms will be possible throughout today. It won't sweep through fast enough to cool things down much as highs will still be in the upper 80s this afternoon.

Showers and thunderstorms are possible late this afternoon/evening along I-70 and southward.

Tuesday and Wednesday now look like they will be partly cloudy with highs in the upper 70s/ low 80s and winds out of the northeast at 5-10 miles per hour.

Thursday night: Showers and thunderstorms likely.

Sunday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m. Lows will cool into the 30s and 40s under mostly cloudy skies.

The chance of rain today is low at 20% for mainly the chance of a few quick passing showers that could return through the day but only produce minimal rainfall amounts. Sunday night cloud cover builds back in and lows will be in the upper 50s with east winds at 5-10 miles per hour. There will be a chance for scattered showers and storms Saturday afternoon so be sure to have our weather app handy for nearby lightning or precipitation alerts. Looking ahead to early next week, another system will bring a renewed chance for storms Monday into Tuesday. Winds: NE10-15 miles per hour, gusts to 25 miles per hour. South winds expected at 5 to 10 miles per hour. Partly sunny, with a high near 65 degrees. Northeast winds 5 to 15 miles per hour. Highs around 90, with heat index values in the low 90s.
