Bolt, victor of eight Olympic and 11 world gold medals, is in the swansong season of his glittering career, but once again added Ostrava to a select list of venues to witness him bowing out of track and field. "I'll be fine. I need to get checked over by my doctor and the coach will give me some training, so no worries".

The four-time Olympic champion will not compete over the distance again until he bids to defend his title at the World Championships.

Ahead of his 100m event in the IAAF event in Ostrava on Wednesday, Bolt, who did confirm that he would not compete in the 200m at the Olympic Stadium in London, added: 'Right now, I'm just focused on getting through the season.

Not unaccustomed to setbacks, Bolt, who will only feature in the 100m at the championships in London, missed nearly three weeks of training, grieving the death of his close friend, Germaine Mason the former Olympic medal winning high jumper.

Of course, this may just be the lull before the glory, as in his injury-hit 2015 season when he recovered to beat the convicted doper Justin Gatlin in the world championships. "I love you", said Bolt, in his ninth appearance in the northeastern Czech city.

The only other race he has scheduled before the world championships is the Diamond League meet in Monaco on July 21.

"I was shocked he actually won, just because how quick young kids were running", said Bolt, 30. That is not to say the meet has not attracted other stars, although there is a dearth of United States and Jamaican athletes.

"But I was kind of shocked he came out victorious. I'm looking forward to competition, always". It affected him in terms of his training and I am sure that in moments away from training there is remembrance and sorrow and so on.

"His preparation is not normally where it used to be at this time, so he is certainly has ground to catch up", Bolt's coach, Glen Mills, said this week, according to the Jamaica Gleaner.

"We're really pretty cool".

"I'm not happy with the time, but I'm getting into it".
