Biggest LeBron disappointment is not winning title for teammates Korver, Williamses

These NBA Finals were more coronation than competition; predetermined from the moment Kevin Durant agreed to sign with a 73-win team boasting the NBA's first unanimous MVP and two other All-NBA talents.

For some, the Warriors' second championship in three years was a celebration of attractive, ideal basketball brought to life.

The long-term challenge for the National Basketball Association is how to address the on-going grumblings about a lack of competitive balance. And not against the Cavs, who got the kind of performance from LeBron James you'd expect in a game of this magnitude.

The Warriors were always inevitable. They were not letting the Warriors celebrate the championship in Cleveland, no sir.

Golden State responded with a 10-3 run, Durant scoring five as the Warriors stretched their margin back to 108-98. Questioning the integrity or greatness of these players is silly.

But seriously, we're all here for Curry and Durant's bromance.

Durant's mother has been in full support of her son over the years and it is even evident on Twitter. It is fair to be frustrated and a little apprehensive about how easily the Warriors made narratives and challenges meaningless.

"I'm cool", Durant added.

"The backstory to this is, after Game 7 last year, I told one of my close friends to save this for a year from now", Curry said. "I left everything I had out on the floor every single game for five games in this Finals, and you come up short".

Just plug something into ESPN's Trade Machine, and if the dollar figures work under salary cap restrictions, the deal is done, right?

"Man, that guy is - I think that some people would say that he's on the toe of - like he's on the line of greatness". He was the unanimous choice for Finals MVP, averaging 35.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.6 blocks and a steal per game in the series, including 39 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the closeout game.

Kerr returned to coach the last four games of the NBA Finals after taking time off since the middle of the first round of the playoffs in hopes of finding a remedy to the nausea and migraines he was experiencing stemming from back surgery from almost two years ago.

The Warriors, though, are clearly better than the Cavs as presently constituted, so the ball is in Cleveland's court: somehow, someway, find a way to get better.

The third person Durant found and hugged was Stephen Curry. Though that problem is significant.

The manner in which they switch assignments when necessary and fight through screens when not is enough to neutralize most of the tough situations offenses are created to put defenses into. They were huge pieces to us as a Warrior team going through this year and they're champs now, too, so happy for them. In doing so, even though the Warriors may have taken the easier path, it was never a shortcut.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr sees Durant as that missing piece to turning a formidable club into a historic juggernaut.

Portland played Golden State eight times this season. Contrast that with the Cavaliers and the season-long talk of flipping the switch instead of addressing the flaws. "And Draymond was like, 'keep playing to the end.' Andre is like, 'keep playing, we have like 50 seconds left.' And I'm like, 'bro, we're about to win the title'". You sacrificed for us. Like Durant, James was on a different team but he was every bit the dominant player that he has been this decade. "It's about making the extra pass. Out-passing your opponent".

The Warriors are inevitable.

"So it would be the same if you feel like you wrote the best column of your life and somebody picked another one over you". Nobody will have the same 15 players they ended the season with. That's what makes them special.
