Draymond Green enjoyed being jeered by Cavs fans

When Draymond Green was assessed a technical foul in the 3rd quarter of Game 4 on Friday night, it appeared as though he would be ejected for receiving his second technical of the game. Those watching the game and many of those participating in it were already under the assumption that Green had got an earlier tech late in the first quarter when he was called for a common foul on a jump ball in which he elbowed Iman Shumpert.

Game 4 of the 2017 NBA Finals was one of the strangest basketball games in recent memory. That cut Golden State's lead to 3-1, but as usual Green's stats were only a small chapter of his story. With 1:55 to play in the first, referee John Goble definitely called a technical. "After looking at the video, I did not verbalize to the table, and looking at the video, I should have done a better job of making sure that the table knew the technical foul was on coach Kerr".

Afterwards, the Warriors All-Star forward fired back.

When asked about how much the fans have repeatedly heckled him, Green took it as a form of flattery.

Green did get whistled for a technical foul in game four Friday for a flailing arm, what was momentarily thought to be an ejecting offense as a second technical.

The odd part is that nobody ever bothered clarifying the foul until after Green picked his up for real in the third quarter.

But Green stood stoically on the floor, then egged on the crowd to raise the decibel level of their jeers toward him.

"I hate to complain", Cavs coach Tyronn Lue said. So then I thought the second one Draymond was going to get kicked out, but they explained the first one was on me.

The box was changed after the third quarter to indicate Kerr had received the first technical. If you come into the game chanting my name, you be at home thinking about me. "And I said, 'Well, it's right here on the sheet that it was on Draymond, and our scorers people said the same thing.' But evidently he said no, it was on Steve Kerr, the first one".

It was a relatively tame reaction for Green, but was still enough for referee Marc Davis to slap him with a technical foul. "With a coach or trainer, we just verbalize and at that time we should listen to the PA announcer to who it is on", Callahan said. "But I thought I heard the announcer say, the PA announcer say that it was on Draymond".

John Goble, who called the tech on Kerr in the first half, took full responsibility for the mix-up, saying he should have done a better job communicating.
