Jack Nicklaus says he feels bad for Tiger Woods

Former World No.1 golfer Tiger Woods was arrested with news emerging that the star golfer was found asleep behind the wheel when he was arrested in Florida.

Police found Tiger Woods asleep at the wheel on the side of a six-lane Florida road in the dark of morning, the engine running and his right blinker flashing.

The 41-year-old golfer was arrested on Monday in Jupiter, where he has a home, and charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The police report also indicated that Woods changed his story regarding where he was coming from as well as his destination. Officers said Woods was cooperative but failed a roadside sobriety test. Breath tests showed no alcohol in his system, and Woods also agreed to a urine test.

The golf legend in a statement said he takes full responsibility for his action and also clarified that alcohol was not involved.

In a statement released on Monday, the long term golf champion claims he had an "unexpected reaction" to his medications, which led him to act out. "I didn't realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly", said Woods. Police say golf great Tiger Woods has been arrested on a DUI.

"I asked Woods where he was going to which he stated he did not know, he just likes to drive".

"When healed, I look forward to getting back to a normal life... competing in professional golf and living without the pain I have been battling so long."

Rist added, "I think he's a good person, and clearly he's a good father, and he's going through a hard time, and I think people should offer support instead of applauding his downfall". "He needs a lot of support from a lot of people, and I'll be one of them". It should be noted that Woods was heading south bound away from Hobe Sound.

Woods' arrest took place about 9 miles from his palatial multimillion-dollar estate on Hobe Sound. He even asked police how far he was from his home on Jupiter Island and was told that he was going in the wrong direction.

"I feel bad for Tiger", Nicklaus said. He has lifetime exemptions into three of the four majors and would no doubt receive an invite to the US Open when his 10-year exemption from his 2008 victory runs out, but returning to the top appears a pipe dream.
