South, North Korea To Partner For The Olympics

South Koreans and others may find it hard to fathom exactly what Trump' policy is as a recent article notes: From threatening military strikes on the North while all but inviting Kim Jong Un to a Mar-a-Lago tete-a-tete, to threatening to tear up trade and defense pacts with South Korea, Trump has thoroughly confused America's Asian allies.

There was no exchange of fire between the two sides when the North Korean soldier, a private, smuggled himself across the border to the south, the Yonhap report said.

The Unification Ministry is hoping to receive a positive response from North Korea regarding President Moon Jae-in's proposal to form an inter-Korean unified team for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games. President Moon later held a luncheon with the participants at the Blue House, where he asked for their interest and support in resolving the North Korea nuclear issue. Ex-president Park, who was impeached due to a corruption scandal, signed a document approving a "leadership change" in North Korea back in 2015, the national daily reported on Monday, June 26 citing unnamed sources, RT said.

Seoul has suggested holding some Olympic events at a ski resort in the North. Work began on Masikryong ski resort after Pyeongchang in the neighbouring South was awarded the 2018 winter Olympics.

While meeting FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Moon floated the idea of the two Koreas along with neighboring China and Japan co-hosting the 2030 World Cup to help cement regional peace.

"For some reason that I do not know, this entire THAAD process was accelerated", said Moon.

After a round of Taekwondo demonstrations, the team is expected to leave South Korea this Saturday. The tensions on the Korean peninsula are a threat to the peace of Eurasia.

It said that besides sanctions imposed on North Korea in recent years over its nuclear and ballistic missile tests, Pyongyang also seeks the lifting of those imposed on May 24, 2010.

The 22-year-old college student, who spent 17 months in a North Korea prison, was released to the United States in a comatose state and died just days after coming home.

His initiative is praiseworthy and must include a clause that North Korea must put an end to its nuclear ambitions and shelve its plans of launching ICBM targeting the United States. However, both times, they competed as separate entities.

Likewise, Trump's longstanding personal perceptions of South Korean defense and trade free-riding could come to the surface at any time, despite Moon's pledges to strengthen South Korea's defense and his country's substantial financial contributions to the construction of a new base for USA forces south of Seoul. "The same might be said of Trump personally, but Washington and USA foreign policy elites place the highest value on the alliance and South Korea's security".
