FLINT, Michigan | Montreal, Amor Ftouhi, suspected of having committed the terrorist attack last June 21 at the worldwide airport Bishop Flint, Michigan, will be back in court Wednesday.

A federal judge today denied bond for the Canadian man accused of stabbing a Flint airport police officer in the neck last week.

Joan Morgan, a lawyer for Amor Ftouhi (ah-MOOR' fuh-TOO'-ee), didn't object to the government's request that he stay in jail. His face was partially covered by a mask he was wearing for "unspecified medical reasons", federal court spokesman David Ashenfelter said.

Ftouhi, originally from Tunisia and who holds dual Tunisian-Canadian citizenship, appeared briefly before U.S. Magistrate Judge Stephanie Dawkins Davis at the federal courthouse in Flint on Wednesday morning.

Dawkins Davis set the next court appearance for 1:30 p.m. on July 5, saying that it would be a pending trial unless a Grand Jury met before then and made a decision to indict Ftouhi. Police say he yelled "Allahu akbar", the Arabic phrase for "God is great".

The man charged in a suspected terrorist attack at Flint's airport will spend the Independence Day weekend behind bars.

The FBI said he bought a knife in the US but was unsuccessful in his attempt to buy a gun. Neville was released from the hospital Monday. The officer is recovering from a 12-inch gash to his neck.
