The trial of officer Jeronimo Yanez

Recently released and sickening dashcam footage of the shooting reveals Castile cooperating with a routine traffic stop and calmly informing the officer that he has a firearm.

Prosecutors claimed that Yanez did not see the gun and acted unreasonably while the defense argued that Yanez saw Castile's hand on the gun, which he had a permit to carry, the AP said. During the exchange, Castile informed Yanez that he had a gun on him. Yanez said, "OK. Don't reach for it then".

Mr. Castile starts to answer, but is cut off by Officer Yanez, whose voice is now raised.

Ms Reynolds' then four-year-old daughter starts to get out of the vehicle and is grabbed by an officer.

Castile's girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds, livestreamed the aftermath of the shooting on Facebook. Yanez is then off-camera, but can be heard talking through his body microphone.

The recently released video was played in the courtroom several times for jurors before they made their verdict.

Dashcam footage showing the controversial shooting death of Philando Castile was released on Tuesday by Minnesota authorities.

Officer Yanez calls for emergency services as he shouts "f***".

Castile was a licensed gun owner and told Yanez he was carrying a weapon after he gave the officer his insurance.

The video begins in silence as Yanez follows a white Oldsmobile driven by Castile on a lightly-traveled road.

But it quickly turns into chaos when Castile tells the officer he has a firearm. Reynolds also assured the officer that her boyfriend will not pull the gun out as Castile had his hands up in the air.

An audio recording captured Castile telling Yanez he had a gun in the auto, and the officer telling Castile not to reach for it. Seconds later, Yanez opened fire.

The city says it concluded the public "will be best served" if Yanez no longer works for the city.

The officer who fatally shot Philando Castile said that it was the smell of marijuana that made him fear for his life. A video recording from the police vehicle of Yanez was also reviewed by the court but has not been made public yet.

Steven Belton, the black president and CEO of the Minneapolis Urban League, said the footage was "powerfully painful" and that Castile was "gunned down like a rabid animal". "I thought I was going to die".

Yanez was cleared by a Ramsey County Jury last Friday.

Meanwhile Officer Joseph Kauser can be seen on the other side of the vehicle.
