Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert didn't know he would be crashing the Chicago Cubs' party.

Gilbert, the founder and chairman of Quicken Loans Inc., visited the White House Wednesday with the mortgage company's CEO Jay Farner to share the story of Detroit's and Cleveland's transformation.

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Donald Trump has welcomed the manager and several players from the World Series champion Chicago Cubs to the White House.

Trump got in this little dig at the National Basketball Association champion Golden State Warriors, "This is a great team and they were actually here but they wanted to be here with Trump, right?"

US President Donald Trump ponders a question from the press as he meets with members of the 2016 World Series Champions Chicago Cubs.

In November, then-President elect Trump nominated Ricketts to serve as deputy secretary of commerce in his administration, but Ricketts eventually withdrew from consideration because he was unable to meet ethics requirements related to his business holdings.

The Golden State Warriors may go to Capitol Hill instead of the White House, and Trump is not happy about it. This was an informal trip during the Cubs' four-game series against the Washington Nationals. The White House documented the visit on their Snapchat account on Wednesday afternoon.

In January, the Cubs visited President Barack Obama at the White House after winning the World Series and shortly before his term ended.

Representatives for Gilbert's company said a year ago that he did not host the September fundraiser and that the space was rented for that event.
