Vladimir Putin Fights Election-tampering Accusations with His Own Shots at US

Putin had no intention to give up even when Kelly pressed the Russian President to explain the alleged Russian "fingerprints" that the combined intelligence agencies' declassified report claims were found in meddling in the US presidential election to help Trump defeat Clinton.

Vladimir Putin has said the U.S. needs to stop the "useless and harmful chatter" about Russian interference in the presidential election, arguing that Donald Trump's electoral strategy was entirely responsible for his victory. "This is disinformation." Putin said on Thursday that the Kremlin did not order the hacking campaign, but that "patriotically minded" Russian citizens may have taken it upon themselves to target "those who say bad things about Russia".

"Snowden is not a traitor, he did not betray the interests of his country, nor did he transfer any information to any other country that would damage his own people", Mr. Putin said.

"Can you imagine something like that in the midst of a political battle!"

The Russian government has denied USA intelligence agencies' conclusion that it sought to influence the election in Trump's favor, but Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that some Russian individuals may have acted on their own. "It's harmful, hurting worldwide relations, the global economy, security and the fight against terror".

President Putin expressed hope that the business dialogue in the framework of the forum, initiatives and certain ideas of representatives of Russian and USA businesses will help to form a favourable environment for solving this uneasy task.

Russian President Vladimir Putin urged U.S. business executives Friday to help improve U.S. -Russia relations that have reached "their lowest point since the Cold War", a almost 50-year period of East-West geopolitical tension that ended in 1991.

Asked Friday if the White House might invoke executive privilege, Press Secretary Sean Spicer told reporters: "That committee hearing was just noticed, and I think obviously it's got to be reviewed".

"The problem isn't us, the problem is inside United States politics", he said.

Putin said. "He's paid for holding meetings, discussing current affairs".

As Putin, unlike Modi, does not have a Twitter account, the world may never know whether the Russian president was as delighted as his Indian counterpart was (or at least tweeted he was) with the visit. Jeff Sessions - had with Russian diplomat Sergey Kislyak.

At the event, Putin also said that a child could have hacked the DNC it was so easy.

Asked if Russia is happy to see divisions in North Atlantic Treaty Organisation over Trump's push for members to increase defense spending, the Russian leader responded on an acerbic note that Moscow would be happy to see the meltdown of the alliance he described as a Cold War relic. "Trump's team was more efficient during the election campaign".
