There's reason to believe Donald Trump takes the U.S. Women's Open golf tournament seriously, and not because he's a fan of the game.

For their initial visit on the second day of the golf championship, Melania kept things low-key on arrival with a form-fitting, long-sleeved white shirt and high-waisted navy pants with a caramel belt.

President Trump visited the US Open yesterday for the third time in a week as he was in attendance both on Saturday and Friday and even thanked his supporters for "out-numbering" the protesters, Sputnik reported. On Sunday, there was another incident: a peaceful protest inside the grounds.

A double-bogey on the par-four 11th hole was the low point of a patchy round which also featured three bogeys and two birdies at the long Trump National Bedminster course. "They're underpaid as it is", UltraViolet consultant Melissa Byrne said, adding that she was certain she caught Trump's eye when she motioned to her own eyes and pointed toward him.

In a scene extremely rare for the genteel world of professional golf, a woman who identified herself as Victoria K., a Taiwanese immigrant from Harding, N.J., challenged the protesters, saying, "He's a good man".

Mr Trump has spent numerous weekends visiting his own properties and golf courses, raising alarms from ethics experts and critics who say he is using the presidency to bolster his properties' profiles and enrich himself.
