"Our staff is rushing by the first flight available", she tweeted.

Arab News reported that 11 people suffocated and six were injured yesterday, in a fire that ripped through a windowless house they shared at a farm.

India's Jeddah Consulate officials on Thursday said 10 Indians were among 11 killed in a fire in Saudi Arabia's Najran that broke out on Wednesday.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has assured all possible help to kin of those killed and seriously injured in a devastating fire in Saudi Arabia's Najran area.

Of the deceased, four are from Uttar Pradesh, three from Kerala and one each from Bihar and Tamil Nadu.

"We received information regarding the fire through a security patrol around 4 A.M. and rushed to the spot", he said.

Prince Jluwi also expressed concern at the absence of control over foreign workers' residences and the role of field teams of the Civil Defence and the Municipality, reported the state-run Saudi Press Agency. Governor of Najran Jalawi bin Abdul Azeez ordered detailed enquiry. "He is updating me on a regular basis", Swaraj said. Reports say the fire broke out in a windowless house.

Nine million foreigners work in the Kingdom, many of them from South Asia, according to the last official figures released in 2015.

Despite years of criticism, Saudi Arabia still mistreats its labor force.
