AC Milan to continue spending with Sanches Posted by Luke Richards

Milan have made contact with Bayern Munich regarding a loan deal for Renato Sanches, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed.

Sanches was one of the most sought after young players in the world a year ago.

Sanches struggled at Bayern last season after his move from Benfica.

United made their desire to sign Sanches last summer public, and there has been some talk that they could try again for him this summer, though he doesn't now appear to be a priority in midfield.

He helped Portugal win Euro 2016 and was named the young player of the tournament.

The 19-year-old looked to be on his way to becoming one of the best players in the world.

Bayern Munich's CEO dismissed reports that the Bavarians would be entering the race to sign Alexis, having already completed the signing of Real Madrid star James Rodríguez.

Reports state that they are looking to agree a two-year loan deal with an option to make the move permanent for €40m, but while Bayern CEO Rummenigge confirmed talks are ongoing, he also said that Milan have not yet meet their asking price.

Staying at Bayern, though, would also mean a battle to make it into the first team.

AC Milan director Massimiliano Mirabelli has stated his club will only sign prospective targets Renato Sanches and Alvaro Morata on their own terms.

"But we did not get any further".

Bayern's transfer fee for Sanches could rise to €80m if the player is named in the top three for the Ballon d'Or, or in the Federation Internationale de Football Association team of the year. At least I have the impression that AC Milan are not ready to meet our demands.
