Belotti or Morata? Chelsea legend Zola offers Conte transfer advice

Lukaku signed for Manchester United on Monday after agreeing a £75million move

Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola believes that Torino striker Andrea Belotti would be a "perfect" replacement for Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has urged the club's hierarchy to secure a transfer agreement for Andrea Belotti after they failed in their quest to sign Romelu Lukaku.

Belotti has a €100m (£88m) release clause in his current contract with Torino and La Stampa reports that the Premier League champions will bid close to that amount.

And now The Independent claim Chelsea want to sign the 23-year-old and are willing to meet his mammoth £89million release clause.

Belotti became the first player under the age of 24 to score 24 goals in a single Serie A season since 1999-00, which created considerable hype in Italy.

"For now no-one has come in for him".

"I'm glad he's with us and hope he stays".

Real Madrid are demanding £79m for their Spanish striker, which is £9m less than Torino are demanding for the Italian prospect.

The 23-year-old Italy worldwide finished third in Serie A with 26 goals last season, and provided a further eight assists in an impressive campaign that provoked interest from some of Europe's biggest clubs.

'I want to understand his intentions, I'm happy for him to stay, not least because we've given up interesting options which didn't reach the €100m clause.

When asked about the potential of him moving domestically, Cairo replied: 'I don't think it is possible, although the player's will is crucial'.

"I want to talk to him, I want a confirmation".

"We set a release clause for Belotti at €100m, so if an offer from overseas came at that price, I couldn't do anything about it if he accepted", Cairo told reporters at an event.
