Chelsea star wants to force through Man United move

It is now nearly certain that the Serbian global will leave Stamford Bridge after the Premier League champions agreed the purchase of Monaco's Tiemoue Bakayoko, but the destination remains unclear.

Neville is, however, of the opinion that United need more cover and feels Matic, as a proven Premier League performer, would tick all of the boxes.

The 22-year-old underwent keyhole surgery to clean out one of his knees at the end of the French domestic season and is in rehabilitation. They want it to be positive, rather than jumping on any potential negative to kill a deal, like Sevilla perhaps did with Jordan Amavi.

The player is valued at around £40m but Manchester United's deal with Romelu Lukaku has slowed down the process of signing the Chelsea player.

Daily Mirror: United boss Jose Mourinho also wants the club to offer £60m for Spurs' Eric Dier.

Although nothing has been made official yet, this is a well-written fact that Bakayoko is well and truly on his way to England, be it Chelsea or Manchester United.

Reports suggest that Bakayoko is already in London and was only waiting for the clubs to agree a deal.

The Belgium hasn't had much of an impact at Stamford Bridge since joining from Marseille last summer, but at least he knows how to cause a stir on social media. Bakayoko played a decisive season last term, and his impact helped Monaco win the Ligue 1, as well as reach the Champions League semi-finals. It means that Bakayoko will be behind his teammates in pre-season preparation and will miss a significant part of the first half of the season. The defender is now on an off following his successful campaign with Germany in the Confederations Cup.
