There have been no new negotiations between the #San Antonio Spurs and #Jonathon Simmons after the team renounced its rights to the guard/forward, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Simmons, 27, averaged 6.2 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 17.8 minutes a game in 2016-17, his second season in the National Basketball Association.

After talks on a new contract stalled, a sign-and-trade with the Phoenix Suns was proposed that would have brought center Tyson Chandler of the Phoenix Suns to the Spurs for Simmons.

The 27-year-old Simmons was a late bloomer in the National Basketball Association. He finished two seasons there, his first two in the National Basketball Association.

Free-agent guard Jonathon Simmons has agreed to a three-year contract with the Orlando Magic, league sources told The Vertical.

After an impressive showing, the Spurs signed him to an National Basketball Association contract. There, he averaged 6.1 points and 1.9 rebounds on 45 percent shooting.

A 2013 undrafted guard from the University of IL in 2013, Paul saw action for four games with the Dallas Mavericks in the Orlando Summer League where he averaged 16.5 points and 5.5 rebounds.

Multiple teams were heavily involved throughout Simmons' restricted free agency and became more engaged when he was on the free market. He also played tough, hard-nosed defense, particularly on James Harden during the Spurs' second-round playoff victory over the Houston Rockets.
