Here's what LeBron had to say about Lonzo Ball's shoes

The Lonzo Ball show more than sufficed.

After struggling in his NBA Summer League debut, scoring just five points on 2-of-15 shooting, and sitting out a matchup against Kings rookie De'Aaron Fox because of a heavily scrutinized phantom groin injury, Ball broke out for his best game of the summer Wednesday night. Ball electrified the mainly Laker crowd.

James, who watched the game but left with six minutes remaining, was impressed with what he saw from the Lakers prized rookie.

"His passing stands out". He was special tonight.

Ball's choice presented a potentially awkward situation for his father LaVar, the founder of Big Baller Brand, who angered James last season with his comments about his children's hunger for success. On Thursday morning James, a Nike athlete, posted an Instagram video of Ball's shoes from the game, with the caption "Just. Do. It". But the focus stayed mostly on the court Wednesday, as Ball mixed assertive off-the-dribble play with active defense that produced five steals and two blocks.

Ball, though, explained his decision to wear Nike, specifically the Kobe AD, in his third summer league game.

Ball gave a simple explanation for why he was wearing Nikes instead of his signature Big Baller Brand ZO2s.

Going along with my original preview prediction, Alex Poythress was as much of a game impact as I originally predicted, as he played very well for the Sixers, especially in the first half.

"The BBB can be whatever you want", Ball told ESPN. Ball, the prospect, is more than ready to generate plenty of hype by himself.
