Actress Assault Case Is There A Paid Campaign To Create Sympathy Wave For Dileep

Angamaly Judicial First Class Magistrate Court on Friday denied bail to Malayalam actor Dileep who was arrested in connection with the abduction and sexual assault of a prominent actress.

Dileep's bail plea will be considered on Saturday afternoon.

The court accepted a request by the police and extended the actor's custody till Saturday 5 p.m.

The prosecution apprised the court of the gravity of the offence and said it was ready to produce the case diary in a sealed envelope.

Meanwhile, Dileep told the court that he had no complaint against the police.

Dileep was interrogated yesterday at the Aluva Police Club after the evidence gathering process. Dileep was taken to various spots where he is said to have met prime accused in the case Pulsar Suni in a bid to retrace the course of conspiracy that was allegedly hatched. On Thursday, the defendant submitted that the arrest is illegal as the police failed to submit any evidence to prove conspiracy in the case.

There are also rumours about the arrest of the former lawyer of the key accused Pulsar Suni. However the actor complained and the police arrested all accused who were directly involved in the crime.

Apparently, the actress leaked Dileep's "affair" with current wife Kavya Madhavan to his then wife Manju Warrier back in 2013.

On Tuesday, Dileep's name was struck off the rolls of the membership of Association of Malayalam Movies Artistes (AMMA), of which he was treasurer.

The actor's brother Anoop has alleged that Dileep is being hounded and claimed he will come out unscathed in the case.

Dileep in his 25 years as an actor featured in over 130 films and also owned his own production company besides a good number of multiplexes. The custody period of the actor ends today.
