Fox's Chris Wallace blasts Trump White House: They have a 'huge problem with credibility'

Smith and Fox News commentator Chris Wallace were discussing the ongoing allegations and unfolding information surrounding a June 2016 meeting involving Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, Paul Manafort, and a Russian lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya.

Wallace was seemingly caught off guard by Smith's candor.

Shepard Smith of Fox News.

After reporting newly confirmed information that there were up to eight people at the meeting, Smith tore into the administration and its so-called deception while speaking on "Shepard Smith Reporting" with colleague Chris Wallace. "If you're a fair-minded citizen, you ought to be concerned about the fact that we were repeatedly misled about what this meeting concerned". "I think there is very little legal jeopardy for Donald Trump, Jr., but there's a huge problem with the credibility of the White House because they kept saying there is no collusion, there have been no contacts, this is all a hoax, it is all fake news".

Smith went on to criticize Jared Kushner for failing to report the names of these individuals on his necessary clearance paperwork.

- Leanne Naramore (@LeanneNaramore) July 14, 2017WALLACE: They've told a variety of stories, and who knows if we've even gotten to the end of the story.

"If there's nothing there, and that's what they tell us, why all these lies?" And the excuses they offer to explain the lies become more ridiculous every day. "If you clean, come on clean".

Smith said his grandmother used to say that "oh, what a tangled web we leave when first we practice to deceive".

"The deception, Chris, is mind-boggling", the host added, before turning his focus to Trump's dedicated supporters.

The host's impassioned line of questioning left commentator Chris Wallace at a loss for words, responding, "I don't know what to say".

"There's been lying about who you talk to, and by lots of people and nearly inevitably and invariably", he said at the time.
