People Are Rooting For These Two Strangers Who've Kept Up A Joke On Tinder For Almost 3 Years

Michelle Arendas and Josh Avsec have kept up an epic Tinder conversation for almost three years-and after it recently went viral, their story scored them a free trip to Hawaii.

Kent State students Michelle Arendas, 21, and Josh Avsec, 22, matched on Tinder, but Arendas took over two months to respond to Josh's initial message, Buzzfeed News reported. That is, until two twentysomethings turned it into a hilarious three-year-long joke that went viral. She replied two months later: 'Hey sorry my phone died!'

Their conversation kicked off in September 2014 when Avsec greeted Arendas on the dating app. "I (got) really caught up with finals". Avsec played along, waiting another couple of months after that exchange before responding, "Hey, sorry was in the shower".

Her match joked back: "Wow you found that pretty fast". She explains that she had to constantly delete and download the app at the time so would miss messages. "But I was interested", Arendas said.

Last Friday, Avsec tweeted his exchange with Arendas noting the dates on the messages saying, " Hahahaha one day I'm going to meet this girl and it's going to be epic.

It all started when Avsec shared a screenshot of his conversation with Arendas that took Twitter users on a fun ride and now thousands of people are rooting for them.

No doubt the couple's fans will be eagerly awaiting the outcome of what has to be one of the most built-up dates of all time. "You have 24 hrs to decide the city you want to have your first date in and we'll send you there!" they said in a tweet.

After some back and forth, Avsec and Arendas settled on the Hawaiian island of Maui.

Though we don't know for sure when the two are actually going to pack their bags and go, this has all the makings of the best relationship origin story ever.
