The Bollywood biggies gathered under one roof to congratulate the most deserving nominations.

Alia Bhatt, who had two nods this time, won the Best Actress award for Udta Punjab, outperforming Sonam Kapoor in Neerja, Anushka Sharma in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, and Taapsee Pannu in Pink.

Other nominees in the field included "Armaan Malik" for "Besabriyaan" of "M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, ' Arijit Singh for "Channa Mereya" of "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" and Diljit Dosanjh for 'Ikk Kudi" of 'Udta Punjab'. Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury took home the award for Best Director for his film Pink.

Hosted by Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan and producer-director Karan Johar, the ceremony, which celebrates the achievements of Bollywood in different cities across the world, is a three-day extravaganza that started from July 13 and is being held at the iconic MetLife Stadium in NY.

In a boomerang video shared by Shahid on the photo-blogging site Instagram, the "Shaandaar" co-stars can be seen happily playing with the award after the ceremony. "Congratulations @aliabhatt." On the other hand, Alia wrote: "Here's to Udta Punjab @shahidkapoor".

The Best Picture honour went to "Neerja", based on the real life story of air hostess Neerja Bhanot, who lost her life while trying to save others on a hijacked flight at Karachi.

Music maestro AR Rahman was honoured with a special award for completing 25 years in the industry.

Veteran actor Anupam Kher won the best supporting actor male award for his performance in MS Dhoni: The Untold Story.

Best Female Playback Singer: Tulsi Kumar for Airlift.

Best Actor in a comic role: Varun Dhawan for Dishoom.

Best Performance in a negative role: Jim Sarbh for Neerja.

Meanwhile, Amit Mishra walked away with the Best Playback Singer (Male) award for the song "Bulleya" of the movie 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'. We will update the latest news here.
