You can now send any file you want in WhatsApp

You can update WhatsApp on an Android phone by launching Google Play and clicking the three horizontal lines icon at the top left of the page, then choosing My apps & games and checking to see whether a WhatsApp update is available. This is the same feature received by iOS users last week.

Instant messaging app WhatsApp has upgraded its file sharing feature letting users share any type of document attachments.

Several weeks ago, we reported that WhatsApp would soon allow users to share just about any file they want using its messenger service. The feature was first available in the beta version and now made its presence in the new version. The highlight of the update has to be the enhanced file sharing feature. WhatsApp will now also stop compressing images - great for serious smartphone photographers, but not so great for those trying to save data.

Recently, WhatsApp has started testing all types of file transfers support on Android, iPhone, and Windows platforms with a limited number of users. One will also be able to select photos and videos directly from the camera screen which populates a gallery of images. But now with the latest update, the pic will retain its original quality for the receiver also.

Popular messaging app Whatsapp has rolled out new attractive features, which is likely to make life more easy for users. Initially, users could only share PDF.

Various text formatting options like bold, italic, and strikethrough, which were activated earlier using shortcodes, can now be enabled by long-pressing the text while chatting.
