Chelsea is expected to make a second bid for Leicester City midfielder, Danny Drinkwater, in the coming week.

However, the England global is reportedly not concerned and is keen to test himself at Stamford Bridge. Is Drinkwater the ideal option for Chelsea? The same paper report that Leicester do not want to sell one of their star players and consider the central midfielder to be worth much more than Chelsea are now offering.

Chelsea have made four major signings thus far, in the form of Tiemoue Bakayoko, Alvaro Morata, Willy Caballero and Antonio Rudiger but Conte recently told a press conference that they need more players to sustain a title defence and compete for other trophies.

It's likely that the Chelsea boss is keen to improve his midfield options, but it's doubtful that the 27-year-old would provide the club with the quality the Italian manager is looking for.

"You know when you have good players that there might be interest in them from other clubs but I wouldn't sleep at night if all the scenarios that you (the media) put to me happened".

The Telegraph's exclusive report also suggests that the East Midlands side will consider Danny Drinkwater's sale, shall the Premier League Champions increase their offer to £40 million.

Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare is confident of retaining all the players he wants to keep in his squad but is wary of approaches from rivals as the transfer window enters its final weeks.

However, the arrival of Drinkwater will not solve all of Chelsea's problems and the defending champions should certainly look to add a couple of more big names before the transfer window ends.
