The segment spinoff is described as a star-studded auto ride with episodes that "features an unexpected celebrity pairing sharing a vehicle, singing along to their personal playlists, and embarking on adventures", according to Apple Music via 9 to 5 Mac. A day later, a photo of Jeong with Linkin Park was uploaded on the band's official Twitter account.

That's pretty evident in a preview of an upcoming episode of "Carpool Karaoke: The Series" in which LeBron lets it loose to Michael Sembello's "Maniac" from the movie "Flashback" with host James Corden.

"We will navigate it as delicately as possible and just adhere to whatever wishes they would want", he added.

Deferring to Bennington's family is the right decision.

Meanwhile, Carpool Karaoke showrunner Eric Pankowski told The Hollywood Reporter of Linkin Park's episode, "We've been in conversations with the band and the family, and all the representatives of the band".

"A few of you who watched the Grammys back in February may have noticed during one of the commercial breaks that we took a spin around the Los Angeles area with comedian and actor Billy Eichner", reads an update at the band's official site.

"We will approach it in whichever manner his family or the people that were involved in that episode, however they would like it to be handled", he said.

Corden's comments drew immediate reaction from Bennington's widow, Talinda, who thanked the late-night host for his kind offer. Bennington died of a suicide in July. The singer's memorial was attended by his family and closest friends in the music industry.

The first episode of the series based on a segment from The Late Late Show With James Corden was made available in the early hours of Wednesday on Apple Music.
