CNN kicked the the curb Donald Trump surrogate Jeffrey Lord today, hours after he tweeted "Sieg Heil!" in response to an argument with Media Matters.

With "Sieg Heil!" representing a victory salute used originally by Nazis at political rallies, Lord and CNN got criticism for Lord's reply, which is still alive on Twitter as of this writing.

Lord on Thursday tweeted a link to his column criticizing the "fascist spirit" of Media Matters for America president Angelo Carusone, whose surname he misspelled "Corusone". Earlier in the day, he defended his tweet by saying he was "mocking a fascist".

Media Matters for America had often called on CNN to dismiss Mr. In this instance, Carusone had told Lord that a column he'd written for the American Spectator was "full of lies" about financial support from billionaire George Soros, which Carusone clarified amounted to "one donation one time.in 2010". "Not Fascist Italy, Nazi Germany or Communist Russia".

Carusone responded to Lord in a tweet, "Your headline has a mistake in it".

Lord's tweet came in the midst of a back-and-forth with Angelo Carusone, who he has battled for a while now.

Carusone asked, "Why do you expect anyone to take you seriously when you don't take yourself seriously".

As the Trump administration has thrust CNN into an adversarial relationship, the cable-news outlet has had to jettison relationships with on-air personalities nearly as fast as it can mint them.
