Qatar Introduces Visa-Free Entry To 80 Countries And It Doesn't Include Pakistan

The visa waiver followed the country's boycott by four Arab states: Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates in June.

It added: "This measure has been taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain in compliance with ICAO's directives to ensure safety in the air traffic system over global waters and it does not mean that the Kingdom has allowed the Qatar Airways to use its sovereign airspace".

Under the NOTAM the access route, above the Arabian Gulf, connects Iranian airspace to Bahraini.

Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, plus Egypt severed ties with Qatar and cut off air, sea and ground links with Doha.

Egyptian NOTAMs also show that temporary routes have been established for Qatari flights operating between Beirut and North African destinations. The four allies also banned all Qatar-registered aircrafts, including the country's national carrier Qatar Airways, from flying over their airspaces.

Qatar Airways chief executive Akbar al-Baker said on Wednesday the carrier was evaluating whether to use the supposedly-newly-opened air routes.

"The visa exemption scheme will make Qatar the most open country in the region", Hassan al-Ibrahim, Chief Tourism Development officer at Qatar Tourism Authority, told reporters at a press conference in Doha yesterday.

"The General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates denies allowing aircraft registered in the State of Qatar to cross the sovereign airspace of the state", the authority said in an a statement on Wednesday.

The economic action has put Qatar Airways in a hard position having to take longer, more expensive routes to destinations.
