Pulis has been in charge of West Brom since January 2015 following the departure of Alan Irvine.

He will be hoping to improve on last season's finish of 10th.

Pulis is not anxious about the amount of time it has taken to get players in, nor is he concerned with the amount of time the club has to bring new faces in.

Pulis is joined on the bench this year by new assistant manager and former Hawthorns boss Gary Megson.

"I am disappointed. It is unlike us to have so much possession and to not create chances - that is the most disappointing thing", he said.

He said: "I'm delighted to extend my contract because it continues the stability within the club which is essential for its progress". I think we've seen an improvement all across the club in recent seasons and we must continue that in what is such a tough, tough league.

With regard to conversations with club chairman John Williams, the Welshman mentioned having spoken "at great length over the summer", knowing the direction needed that together they "are determined to do".

12Bet is the official betting partner of 2015/16 Premier League champions Leicester City and it recently signed a three-year deal with 2016/17 FA Cup winners Arsenal to become their official betting partner in Asia.

"Neither can we underestimate how hard that is". We had the most shots on goal and the most corners.

As well as bringing in the veteran England frontman Jermain Defoe, Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has also been able to acquire the services of goalkeeper Asmir Begovic and defender Nathan Ake, in a £20million deal, from Chelsea as the south-coast club step up their ambitions to become established among the Premier League elite. "We can take enormous confidence from this", the Egyptian concluded.

Firmly associated with defensive tactics, Pulis last term surprised many by adding an attacking dimension to his team, after calls from fans to give more service to their lone striker up front.
