Marshawn Lynch sits during national anthem before Raiders preseason game

Last night, Marshawn Lynch of the Oakland Raiders showed his support for Kaepernick and the fight against racism by taking a seat during the "Star-Spangled Banner".

Running back Marshawn Lynch #24 of the Oakland Raiders stands on the sidelines during the National Football League game against the Arizona Cardinals at the University of Phoenix Stadium on August 12, 2017 in Glendale, Arizona. Many, including Bennett, believe Kaepernick's protests are the reason he's still a free agent.

"With what's going on, I'd rather see him take a knee than stand up, put his hands up and get murdered", Lynch said.

There isn't a specific reason why Lynch protested, but if it were parallel reasons, Charlottesville, Va. has been dealing with racial protests by white supremacist groups this past week resulting in riots and even people getting run over by a auto who protested against the groups.

Lynch remains seated during the national anthem.

"I really know Mark knows he messed it up", Maddon said. "It's not a form of anything other than me being myself, '" Del Rio told The Mercury News.

The Cardinals defeated the Raiders 20-10 Saturday night.

When Colin Kaepernick, quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, refused to stand for the national anthem a year ago, people were quick to call him "unpatriotic". "And if you're really not racist then you won't see what he's doing as a threat to America, but just addressing a problem that we have". I think that's one of those things that nobody wants to talk about, and for him to bring race and politics in sports, I think it struck a lot of people the wrong way.
