Mother Accused In Amber Alert Faces Several Charges

Amber Alerts are issued for children who are believed to be in danger.

The correct charges against Leeann Rickheit are as yet hazy as state and neighborhood police explore.

The child was taken to UMass Medical Center for an exam.

A Worcester mother will be arraigned this morning in Dudley District Court on charges including attempted murder, state police said today, hours after the woman and her 3-year-old were the subject of an overnight AMBER Alert.

Police say Rickheit threatened to harm her daughter when she took her from a residence on Greenwood Street in Worcester last night at 7:45 p.m. Rickheit made dangers to hurt the youngster tonight, as per police.

Leeann is believed to be driving a blue, 2007 Hyundai Sonata bearing MA registration 4PG367.

Abbott is described as a white female with brown hair and brown eyes, standing 3 feet tall and weighing approximately 40 pounds.

Her mother, Rickheit, is described as a white female around 38-years-old, with light brown hair, blue eyes.

Troopers from the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section located the vehicle in the woods near a store on Stafford Street in Charlton in an area where Rickheit was known to park her auto and sleep in the past, State Police spokesman David Procopio wrote. Golden Alerts are issued for youngsters who are accepted to be in risk.
