The NBA released its opening night and Christmas schedule and the Celtics open October 17 at Cleveland and host the Washington Wizards on Christmas Day. Prior to the game, which tips off at 7:30 p.m. (PDT) on TNT, the Warriors will receive their 2016-17 NBA Championship rings and raise their fifth championship banner at Oracle Arena. We won't have to wait long to see the Warriors in action, as they'll be on right after the opening game, taking on the team many believe may see them come the Western Conference Finals, the Houston Rockets, with new star point guard Chris Paul.

The Cavs beat the Warriors in Christmas previous year when Kyrie Irving made a shot with Klay Thompson draped on him with 3.4 seconds left in the game. Maybe some families will not appreciate all the bad blood on Christmas, but there is no doubting that is the matchup that will draw the most interest with the Cavaliers tied up in the Finals rematch. That was Washington's first Christmas Day game since 2008. It will be the third consecutive season the two-high profile teams will be at the center of the league's marquee slate.

The visiting Wolves, who played on Christmas last season, had one of the most active offseasons in the league by trading for Jimmy Butler and signing Jeff Teague, Taj Gibson and Jamal Crawford.

In his second season, he was adjusting well and helped the Cavs to take number one see in the East but unfortunately was sacked and was replaced by Tyronne Lue. now a year later David Blatt is looking to come back to the National Basketball Association this offseason as reported by Allon Sinai of the Jerusalem Post.

The NBA made it official Thursday night.
