The Supreme Court on Thursday pulled up the CBSE for setting different question papers for students taking the NEET in regional languages

The Supreme Court has pulled by the CBSE for making different questions for the students who attempted the NEET 2017 exams in the regional languages.

On the basis of the student's group who accused CBSE last month for managing more tougher question papers in 8 vernacular languages.

Counsel appearing for Medical Council of India too informed the bench that questions were prepared in English and then got translated in Hindi but for setting the questions in other regional no language experts were available and hence difference questions were set but difficulty level of the questions were set.

Meanwhile, Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Prakash Javadeker announced that question papers of NEET 2018 will be mere translation of the question paper in English.

On July 14, the Supreme Court also refused to "invalidate" the NEET 2017 examination - a national level exam that was conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education to administer admission in Undergraduate medical Courses in Governmental as well as in private institutions. This meant that there must be uniformity and the questions have to be identical.

In a brief order the Bench directed the CBSE to conduct the 2018 NEET without any ambiguity in question papers in English, Hindi and regional languages.

When Justice Misra asked the ASG whether the objective of uniformity would be served if the difficulty level were the same, he answered in the affirmative.

The court slated the hearing for October 10.

Earlier, Members of the TMC and AIADMK in the Rajya Sabha had expressed grave concern over the issue of different questions papers being given to students attempting the common medical entrance examination in regional languages in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu.
