PSG line up £80 million offer for Manchester City target Alexis Sanchez - Report

Mundo Deportivo and La Gazzetta Dello Sport have reported that PSG are nearing a deal with Jorge Mendes, Mbappe's agent and the one in charge of leading the negotiations on Monaco's side, for the transfer of the youngster.

Given that PSG and Real Madrid are also reluctant to meet Monaco's demands, it is understood that Pep Guardiola still fancies his chances of getting a deal done.

"He has to show he can be consistent, perform at a big competition like the World Cup with France, and then make his move".

Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi put in a personal call to Mbappe during the those discussions, assuring him that he remained on their radar. He is a quiet guy, only thinking of work.

The France worldwide has been linked with the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Real Madrid over the past few months, and speculation has it that he will be on the move soon.

Neymar was unveiled to the PSG fans on Saturday, but was allowed only to watch from the stands as his new team started its league campaign with a 2-0 win.

PSG boss Unai Emery welcomes the pressure Neymar's arrival brings to the club.

The signing of Mbappe would take their total spend this summer to around £380m.

However the coverage will ramp ahead of the game against Guingamp, with all eyes set to firmly be on the new most expensive player in the world.

They were given a £20m fine, their spending was capped to £49m and they competed in the 2014-15 Champions League with just 21 players instead of the usual 25.
