Ron Johnson Questions If McCain's 'No' Was Due to Cancer

After a long day, at around 1:30 a.m., McCain joined Senate Democrats and voted no on the "skinny repeal" of the Affordable Care Act. When he did, Republicans-all of his colleagues, in fact-rejoiced.

There are 3 comments on the Washington Times story from 7 hrs ago, titled Ron Johnson apologizes for suggesting John McCain's brain tumor played role in health care vote.

Well, the radio host chose to follow up on that one and asked Johnson if he really believed what he'd just said.

Johnson: "Again I don't know exactly what-we really thought-again I don't want to speak for any senator-I really thought John was going to vote "yes" in that conference at 10:30 at night". By about 1:00 or 1:30, he voted no. "So you have talk to John in terms what was on his mind". Ron Johnson (R-WI) has a different theory: Maybe it was his brain tumor.

After having surgery to get a blood clot removed, McCain was diagnosed with brain cancer.

Republican maverick McCain previously stated in a radio interview that he supports the repeal, but only with an immediate replacement at the ready.

Sen. Johnson also released a statement saying, "I'm disappointed I didn't more eloquently express my sympathy for what Sen. McCain is going through", he said, CNN reported. It's nothing personal, as far as Johnson is concerned, McCain's just an old geezer with one foot in grave whose brain tumor and lack of sleep confused him into voting against the bill. His surprise vote on July 28, less than a week after his diagnosis, effectively killed Republican legislation on a "skinny repeal" of Obamacare. "It is weird and deeply unfortunate that Senator Johnson would question the judgment of a colleague and friend", it read. If the Senate had voted for the bill, it would have gone to conference, where amendments would have been added. "Senator McCain has been very open and clear about the reasons for his vote". "McCain is going through".

McCain has said he voted "no" because the process that created the bill was flawed and partisan, and the measure doesn't do enough to replace the parts of Obamacare it would have repealed.

"It was a political process versus a problem-solving process", he said.
