Video footage has emerged of Tom Cruise sustaining an injury after performing a stunt for his upcoming movie "Mission Impossible 6".

In video got by TMZ, Cruise is appended to a saddle while making the jump.

The 55-year-old actor was filming the latest movie in the 'Mission: Impossible' franchise - in which he plays International Monetary Fund agent Ethan Hunt - over the weekend when he was hurt on set.

The 55-year-old actor, who performs most of his own stunts for the popular action movie franchise, hit the building when attempting to leap a short distance from a nearby rigging, reports TMZ.

He then crouched down with his palm to his forehead, assessing the amount of pain he was in and chose to limp back to the edge of the building as if nothing happened. Crew members on the movie's safety team then approach Cruise and pull him away. His rep has not responded to a request for comment. His plane sequence from Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, which featured Cruise's Ethan Hunt dangling off an Airbus 400 aircraft as it made its way down the tarmac and lifted into the sky, was a key element in the pic's promotional run.

Aside from Mission Impossible, Tom Cruise is also set to start working on a sequel to the hit movie Top Gun - 1986! The extent of his injuries remains unclear.

"Mission: Impossible 6", starring Cruise as International Monetary Fund agent Ethan Hunt, is scheduled to be released July 27, 2018.
