Zidane's team beat Manchester United 2-1 to win Tuesday's UEFA Supercup in Skopje, meaning Madrid have won six trophies in the Frenchman's 20 months in charge, including back-to-back Champions Leagues and the 2015/2016 La Liga title.

Former Spain coach, Vicente del Bosque, has compared Zinedine Zidane's all-conquering Real Madrid team, to the Barcelona side managed by Pep Guardiola between 2008 and 2012.

However, his situation at Real Madrid underwent a dramatic U-turn in the second part of the season following Gareth Bale's injury.

Real are obviously keen not to fall into the same trap as Clásico rivals Barcelona, who lost superstar Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain after the French club triggered his €222m clause.

Spanish paper AS understands that Isco has signed a new contract at Real Madrid with a €700m release clause, also stating that an announcement will be made within the next few days.

"We're very close and it will be done soon", Isco told reporters after the European Super Cup final in regards to his new contract.

The reports says that Los Blancos are expecting to hold an official event to present the new deal at the Santiago Bernabeu following the two-legged Spanish Super Cup against Barcelona to be played on 13 and 16 August.

Isco, according to the report, has already signed the new contract which is worth €6m-a-year.

Barcelona are ready to pull off a big coup, by triggering Marco Asensio's release clause.
