More than 97 percent of residents impacted by the hurricane have had their service restored, according to the release.

Customers provided the crews with food, drinks and thanks as they worked on restoring the power.

With most customers essentially restored, the remaining isolated outages are the toughest.

Out of 933,300 customers in Broward County, about 1,900 were without power Saturday afternoon, said FPL spokesman Bill Orlove. Approximately 500 crews continue to work on efforts and although specific times for each location are not possible it is certain that work will not slow until all customers have been restored.

Hurricane Irma cut power and communications throughout South Florida.

Embassy in Washington said UAE government has pledged 10 million USA dollars for recovery following the Hurricane Irma, which brought widespread devastation to Florida in the United States, UAE state news agency WAM reported on Thursday.

Evening thunderstorms on September 22 resulted in outages for several customers who already had power restored after Hurricane Irma.

At the peak, Irma knocked out electricity to 6.7 million homes and businesses. "We are inspired by the spirit and determination of all Floridians during this hard time, and are confident that the areas most impacted by Irma will recover stronger than ever".
