Coutinho questions remain as Klopp turns to Karius

It's been clear since the start of the season that Klopp is dedicated to his plan to rotate out his three goalkeepers, Simon Mignolet, Loris Karius, and Danny Ward over the many fixtures that Liverpool will have to compete in.

Discussing Klopp's likely team selection, Aldridge told the Liverpool Echo: "There's Philippe Coutinho available, of course".

"Klopp revealed: "[Salah] was in and said he could train, the doc said he could train, but when I asked the doc what would be best for him him and he said if he didn't have to train because he had a bit of a sore throat.

The Brazil worldwide was expected to join the Catalan giants in a £134m switch last month as a replacement for Neymar, who left for Paris Saint-Germain, but the move failed to materialise with Coutinho remaining at Anfield. "We have to take the first 20 minutes and how we played before the global break and take it into the next game", said keeper Simon Mignolet on what they intend to do heading into a tough clash.

Coutinho would be a welcome addition to a side beaten 5-0 by Manchester City on Saturday, a collapse sparked by Sadio Mane's first-half sending off. It was the evening Liverpool hosted the Swiss champions Basel in their final Champions League Group B match requiring a victory to progress to the knockout rounds.

Sevilla arrive at Anfield on Wednesday night for both sides' opening Champions League group stage games and the Spanish giants are widely considered to be the toughest test Jurgen Klopp's men will face in Group E; Maribor and Spartak Moscow are also in the group. "I'm happy to be at the club with these players".

On the specific absence of Coutinho's incisive passing, Klopp added: "We score a lot of goals and all the players on the pitch play these passes. In this moment we expect him back tomorrow morning for normal training", the Reds boss explained.

"Surely there will be a way back for him as long as he gets his head down and wants to play and get back in the side". I think it's something to behold and enjoy.
