Frankfurt Motor Show 2017: Porsche introduces all-new Cayenne

Now, at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the automaker gives us all we need to know about the 2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo, including specs that would make some sports cars sweat. The V8 sends its power to all four wheels via a new 8-speed Tiptronic S transmission. Propelling 0-60 miles per hour in 3.7-seconds, when equipped with the Sport Chrono Package, and reaching a top speed of 177-mph makes this Cayenne Turbo faster than the outgoing 2018 Cayenne Turbo S. The new Turbo sprints to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds (3.9 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package) and reaches a top speed of 286 km/h. Want even more performance? Further helping the performance SUV along is Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, which can be combined with an optional rear-axle steering system for the "driving dynamics of a sports auto", Porsche says. Yep, the Cayenne has an adaptive rear spoiler - the first time such a thing has been fitted on an SUV according to Porsche - and when it's not adding downforce or position to increase efficiency, it's able to tilt up and increase drag considerably. Rear-wheel steering is now optional, and Porsche has also included its new Porsche Surface Coated Brake standard.

Standard equipment is generous: 21in alloys, 710-watt Bose stereo, 18-way electric, heated front seats and Porsche Active Suspension Management are all standard.

Like the standard Cayenne, the Turbo's interior offers Porsche Advanced Cockpit 12.3-inch instrument cluster screen. With six selectable height levels, the ground clearance can be manually adjusted to suit the off-road terrain.

The new Cayenne Turbo is the first vehicle in its segment to feature active aerodynamics too. Engineers tell vehicle it'll lop two metres off the stopping distance from 155mph.

The new 2019 Cayenne Turbo will be available in Canada next summer with pricing starting from $139,700. Porsche will introduce the model in India as well sometime in the future, and much like its complete range, the new Cayenne Turbo will arrive as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). The company employs a team of more than 40 in sales, aftersales, finance, marketing, network development, and public relations.
